Listening to Truly Understand Messages – Part 1
The fifth habit requires us to make a shift in our character wherein we will have to learn to open ourselves up to opinions and insights that are new to us.
Here, we let go of our need to give advice or judgment.
Rather we give our attention and reflect on what the other person communicates with us.
We often fail at understanding others because we think too much about what to say than what they are saying.
Our brain would often be filled with thoughts of what the best response would be.
But this isn’t always going to be the best around the situation.
When we open ourselves up to more, we are able to view the world from another person’s point of view.
In these instances, we might even get influenced by their perspectives.
